It was 10 years ago today Mr. Rogers died. Fred Rogers was more than a TV personality, for many of us he was a friend. He was the kind of friend that seemed to understand what being a kid was all about.

His calm voice, his soothing tone, his genuine interest in us is what made Mr. Rogers the neighbor we all wanted to have.

 

The folks at PBS, the people who brought Mr. Roger's Neighborhood into our homes, created this loving tribute video a few years back. I think it is a fitting tribute to a man who taught at least one little boy the power of imagination, dreams and kindness.

Thank you Mr. Rogers if I am blessed enough to see you on the other side I would love to shake your hand and say thank you for helping me plant so many great thoughts in the garden of my mind.
