There should be constitutional amendments that say all proposed constitutional amendments must be written at current level of literacy in the state in which they are proposed. Often these amendments which change the course of government for decades are written in such a way that the average person has no real idea what they have voted for or against.

That is why it is so important for you to understand what each amendment on today's ballot is asking you to consider.

Many times amendments are written in such a way that voting for them often prohibits something else. It's all part of the plan for those in power to stay in power. Despite my ranting about political conspiracies and secret societies designed to keep the common man common, we still get the illusion that we have a say so in the policy that governs us. Let's take a look at a few of today's ballot amendments.

Amendments 1 and 2 have been getting the most press lately. They are also the amendments have been advertised for and against on radio and TV so they must have to do with something that creates a lot of cash flow. They do it is healthcare.

Amendment 1 protects the financial system that has been set up for nursing homes and care facilities that are matched by Medicaid, to reimburse them for the care they give. I would say that's a cash cow with its udder full of government money.

Amendment 2 would give hospitals in the state tax money that they would be able to match with Medicaid dollars, to help compensate for the care they give to the uninsured.

I must admit, I had help paraphrasing those amendments, you can read more about them in a story published by the Louisiana Radio Network. There is a great resource that I have linked to below that can help you understand all of today's amendments. I suggest you take a look and take a moment to read and understand each issue. You can even create a cheat sheet to carry into the voting booth to help you remember how you wanted to vote.
