24-year-old Ariel Bowman and 39-year-old Stephanie Bowman, both of Krotz Springs yet unrelated, have been arrested after allegedly stealing lottery tickets from the business where they were working.

The pair were caught on surveillance video allegedly removing the lottery tickets from the case and scratching off the barcode. Then, they allegedly would then use the Louisiana Lottery ticket scanner to verify that the ticket had a winning amount. After that, they allegedly would take the cash value of the tickets from the cash register without paying for them.

"During the questioning of Stephanie Bowman, she admitted to stealing an excessive amount of tickets ranging from 12 to 15 per day for at least 1 month," says St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. "Bowman added that she believes the value is somewhere between $1,600 to $1,700 dollars. St. Landry detectives have notified the Louisiana Lottery Commission and additional charges on both are expected."

Aireal Bowman is charged with Felony Theft-Over $900.00 while Stephanie Bowman is charged with Felony Theft-Over $1,500.00.
