The 2014 Lafayette Education Foundation (LEF) Awards were presented last night at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette. Four educators walked away with the highly coveted award in each of the categories: Elementary, Middle and High School along with Inspirational.

There were a total of sixteen finalists that were whisked to the event in a limo, given the red carpet treatment and cheered on by their adoring fans.

All of the finalists should be commended, considering that there were 635 total nominees!

Congratulations to all the finalists and the winners:

Elementary: Lynn Mcelroy - 2nd Grade Teacher at Woodvale Elementary
Middle: Victoria Landry - Choir Teacher at LJ Alleman Middle School
High School: Kirk Baudoin - Health Sciences Teacher at Lafayette High School
Inspirational: Rachel Allen Gaspard - Special Education Teacher at Paul Middle School
