’20/20′ News Anchor Elizabeth Vargas Checks Back Into Rehab

"20/20" co-anchor Elizabeth Vargas has checked into rehab again for alcohol abuse. This is the second time she's done so in the last year.

Vargas released the following statement: "As so many other recovering alcoholics know, overcoming the disease can be a long and incredibly difficult process. I feel I have let myself, my co-workers and most importantly my family down and for that I am ashamed and sorry."

She spent a few weeks last year in rehab then returned to work. Obviously, her dependency on alcohol has caught up with her again.

ABC, just like last year, are backing Elizabeth again saying they are "squarely behind her".

Let's all pray she can defeat this demon for good this time.
