A reward of $3,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the beheading of a baby goat. The incident took place in a park in Orleans Parish last week and the Louisiana SPCA has increased the award amount to $3,000 to help bring those who committed this cowardly act to justice.

The goat belonged to company called "Y'herd Me". This company was hired to help maintain the shrubbery at Brechtel Park in Algiers. It was at this park the beheading incident occurred. Alicia Hafele with the Louisiana SPCA describes what happened.

"Last week one of the people who owns the company Y'herd Me was at the park tending to the goats and noticed a group of teenagers who were messing with them. They were holding them upside down and throwing them over the fence."

When the teens were confronted by an employee of the company an altercation took place. A retaliation for this altercation is believed to be the motive for the killing of the baby goat.

Residents who frequent the park were quite disturbed when they heard the news of this act of violence. Says Hafele,

"They called us and wanted to offer additional funds which is how the reward went from $1000 to $3000,"
If you have information on this incident you may report that information online at the SPCA website.
