The Lafayette Parish 4-H/FFA Livestock Show and Sale is an annual event that was started in 1979 as part of the overall youth livestock program in Lafayette Parish. The exhibitors - 4-H and FFA members who exhibit these animals - have spent many long hours working with and 'pampering' their animals to prepare for show competition and this sale.

Shows for poultry, sheep and goats begins at 9 a.m. Friday, and the beef cattle show will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. The “AgOlympics” is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The market animal sale is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The event precedes the Acadiana District Livestock show scheduled Jan. 23-26 at Blackham Coliseum.

This is of the most fun events I go to all year, it's such a treat to see the little kids and how proud they are of their animals at the show! We'll be broadcasting live at Blackham Coliseum Friday morning from 8a-11am, thanks to the fine folks at SLEMCO.
