80th Bonnie & Clyde Festival May 23 and 24

The annual Bonnie & Clyde Festival, held every year in Gibsland, La., is something I've always wanted to go to. The festival is held on the weekend closest to the May 23, 1934 date in which the legendary twosome were ambushed in North Louisiana.The festival organizers are quick to point out that the festival is not meant to glorify these 2 criminals, but remember the historical significance of their actions so long ago.

Some of the festivities include a Bonnie & Clyde look-a-like contest, a pancake breakfast, and of course, historical reenactments. You can also check out the official Bonnie & Clyde Museum while you are in Gibsland. If for nothing but the historical aspect, this looks like a really fun way to spend your Memorial Day weekend!
