We're not out of the woods by any means when it comes to hurricane season but Sunday morning we might just be thinking of turning leaves and the clanging of gumbo pots.

A late summer cool front is expected to push through the Acadiana area late in the day on Saturday bringing cooler temperatures and less humidity. Sunday morning you might find yourself enjoying a cup of coffee out on the patio and needing a light jacket.

Dave Baker is thinking temperatures could be near 60 degrees both Sunday and Monday mornings and that should do a couple of things for us. It should give everyone a little pep in their step and allow the insufferable heat to take a break for a few days while the remnants of what used to be part of Isaac will be pushed away from the area.

The cooler temperatures might also put the feeling of football in the air and that timing couldn't be better because the New Orleans Saints open the NFL season at noon on Sunday. You can hear the game with our broadcast beginning at 10am for the pregame show and kick off a noon on 97.3 The Dawg.
