Freight Train Collides With Soybean Truck In Port Barre

Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Stephen Hammons confirms to KPEL that a freight train and a soybean truck have collided in Port Barre.

The train was carrying hazardous materials, but nothing is leaking from the train.

The intersection of Highways 190 and 741 will remain closed, as a precaution, while State Police continues to investigate the accident.

Hammons says, “The truck did not pull far enough of the tracks, and the rear end of it was clipped.”
