Hard to believe that it's been 11 years since Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.10 years of progress, but in some places, it still looks exactly the same as it did on August 29, 2005. President Barrack Obama, and former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton will visit New Orleans next week to commemorate the anniversary, and various other celebrations and memorials will happen as well.

Our friends at the Guardian have put together a photo album of buildings around New Orleans that are decaying and abandoned, yet somehow beautiful and serene. Like they were just left to die after the hurricane. Spooky, but definitely worth looking at. The photos of the Six Flags New Orleans are completely creepy and unnerving. According to WBRC, about 100 alligators have been evicted from the site, and dozens more were found during filming of a movie called Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. It has also been the set for several other films, including Jurrasic World and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

We all wish that everything was completely back to normal on this momentous occasion, but looks like it is going to take a little more TLC, and a little more time. God Bless all who were affected by this horrible event.
