Acadia Parish Band Set To Make History

On May 21, 2012 history is set to be made by a Louisiana band at Walt Disney World in Florida. On that day the Mire-Branch marching band will become the first elementary band from Louisiana to march in a parade at Disney World.

The band under the direction of Michael Magee will depart for Orlando on Sunday 20th at approximately 7am. They are scheduled to perform at Disney World's EPCOT at 10am the following day. Supporters of the band and parents are invited to attend a special practice Saturday May 19th at the school campus at 9am.

This marks the first time an elementary band has been invited and accepted the invitation to perform at Walt Disney World. The band is expected arrive back in Acadia parish on Thursday May 24th.
