For the first time since 2004, the Acadiana Wreckin' Ram football team will have a new head coach, as first reported by The Advertiser.

Ted Davidson announced his retirement today, leaving behind a legacy on the Wreckin' Ram program that is undeniably elite.

Davidson coached high school football for 42 years, serving as an assistant coach for the Rams from 1981 to 2003.

In 2004, he took over as head coach, leading Acadiana to 4 state championships and 2 state runner-up finishes.

Consistently ranked as one of the top 5A programs in the state of Louisiana during his tenure, Davidson took the Rams to unprecedented heights.

With a career head coaching record of 154-46, Davidson expects the reins to be handed over to someone already on staff.

While a replacement has not been decided, Davidson told Kevin Foote of The Advertiser he expects it to be someone in-house.
