In Week Five of the Acadiana High School Football Forecast, Breaux Bridge, Carencro, LHS, Cecilia, Northside and Westgate try to vent some frustration.

The Tigers of Breaux Bridge will travel into Carencro this Friday, and both teams are harboring a sizable portion of anger to let out. Carencro lost to Sam Houston in the final minute, which ruined their homecoming night for the third straight year. Likewise, Breaux Bridge suffered a rivalry loss to Teurlings in the final moments of the game the left both teams bruised and battered. Two teams looking for redemption, but only one will get that load lifted off their shoulders.

One of the toughest teams in Acadiana, the Cecilia Bulldogs, have a shot at another statement game this season by traveling to Lafayette High. The Mighty Lions started off 2-0, scoring 87 points to stir up their fan base. Since then, the heat fizzled and their record fell to 2-2. The Bulldogs pose a high-octane threat to an LHS team that shows issues with offensive consistency.

Raymond Calais Jr. is as good as it gets at the RB position, and QB Landon Roberts, WR Kenya Dartez and the passing game are complimenting him in deadly fashion. Add in LHS's Keshawn Young, and offensive scouts from the collegiate level will have a bit to look at in this one.

On News Talk 96.5 KPEL, Ian Auzenne and Brandon Comeaux will bring you the call for Westgate at Northside. Both teams are still looking for their first win, but the focus here is on the Vikings' star defensive lineman, Tyler Shelvin. Not only is the 4-star LSU recruit a menace to opposing offenses, he also lends a hand in blocking on the O-line and on special teams. His contributions to the kicking game might surprise you though. Big man is the punter and kicker.

Fans of the purple and gold are advised to get a glimpse of Shelvin if they can. Physically gifted (he's a massive human being), intelligent and versatile. There's a good chance he could feast against Westgate in outrageous, gluttonous fashion.

After this week, we're halfway finished with the season. Time flies by when you're watching football, doesn't it?
