If you like sports that require tremendous physical skill, the timing of rocket science and the hard hitting impact football then you have got to check out the Acadiana Roller Girls.

The Acadiana Roller Girls and their sister squad the Vermilionville Sirens will be taking to the track tonight in a double header that begins at 6pm. The Roller Girls will take on Red Stick Roller Derby out of Baton Rouge while the Sirens will be blasting Cowboy Capital Roller Girls.

In addition to the hard hitting action on the track, the Acadiana Roller Girls and The Vermilionville Sirens are showing their softer sides by making tonight's match a benefit for Lafayette Animal Aid. You are encouraged to bring dry pet food and Fabuloso, a spray cleaner, and paper towels that will be donated to Lafayette Animal Aid. We also understand some of our furry fans of roller derby will be in attendance too!

The action takes place at Top Shelf Sports in Youngsvillle. Tailgating begins at 4pm with doors opening at 5:30. The first bout begins at 6pm tonight. Tickets are $15 at the door and kids 12 and under are admitted free. Concessions, food, drinks and plenty of great people watching will be available.
