It's never good when traffic backs up and you have someplace to be. At least with the road construction we can give you a heads up on where not to go and when not to go there.

We do have a couple of construction and crime scene projects scheduled in the next few days that might cause delays in your normal driving patterns.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014:  I-10 Louisiana Avenue Exit 104 from 8pm-6am

The eastbound lanes of travel on I-10 will be reduced to one lane in the vicinity of Exit 104, Louisiana Avenue during the time frame listed above. The lane closure is necessary so that crews can do repair work on the Sawmill Road overpass. This closure is expected to last 30 days.

Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18, 2014 : I-10 Louisiana Avenue from 10pm-5am

All eastbound lanes of travel on I-10 will be closed during this time so that crews can continue and complete road work scheduled for the area. Motorist will be detoured off of I-10 at Louisiana Avenue (Exit 104) and directed to La 94 (Carmel Drive/West Mills Ave) to La 328 (Rees St.) and then back to Interstate 10.

Friday, March 14, 2014: Junction of I-10 and I-49 from 9:30-11:30am

The outside lane of I-10 Westbound will be closed between Louisiana Avenue (Exit 104) and the junction of I-10/I-49 (Exit 103). Crews will be on the scene as part of an investigation into a crash that occurred at that location last week. During this time frame there will also be intermittent closures of the I-49 off ramp for westbound travelers wishing to go north.

The DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with extreme caution in and around construction sites. They also encourage you to be cognizant of work crews and their equipment. All construction projects are subject to cancellation and change in the event of inclement weather.
