In our state of Louisiana we usually think of hurricanes as our biggest worry in the natural disaster department. What's good about a hurricane is usually we have some advanced warning and can take the proper precautions. The wildfires in our neighboring state of Texas are very different.

It is amazing the speed at which this fires consume the dry vegetation especially when the flames are  whipped by fierce winds. Oddly enough the winds that are whipping the fire in this video are a product of  Tropical Storm Lee as it moved through our state last weekend. I do hope you will keep a good thought for the people of Texas who are being affected by these fires. Let's hope the fire crews can get the blazes under control and that maybe Mother Nature will order up a few rain drops for the very parched Lone Star State.
