As residents in Acadia Parish brace for the worst, the American Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Rice Festival building on 4th Street in Crowley.

American Red Cross Acadiana Volunteer Leader Bonnie Robert Will also says Red Cross staff will be setting up offices in Lafayette today to run Acadiana operations for disaster relief. Red Cross is sending staff to handle all aspects of recovery operations including shelter operation, damage assessment, government relations, and public relations.

Right now, if you want to donate to victims of flooding in Acadia Parish, give to United Way of Acadiana at their distribution center on Pinhook. They are running items to residents in Crowley.

Will speaks with Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee of "Acadiana's Morning News."
