Another candidate will make an announcement about entering the race for the Lafayette City Parish Council District 8 seat.

The district is currently represented by Councilman Keith Patin who announced earlier this year that he is not running again.

Gerald Judice, one of the owners of Judice Inn, home of the famous Judice Inn burgers, will be running for the job to replace Patin.

Two other candidates have declared their intentions to run as well.  Liz Hebert and Carol Ross are both running for the seat.

Judice will hold a press event this Sunday, July 12 at Judice Inn at 3134 Johnston Street.  The event is from 5p.m. to 7p.m., and Judice is scheduled to officially announce his candidacy at 6p.m. that evening in front of family, friends and supporters.

Judice is a graduate of USL, and he has more than 30 years of experience in the operation and management off the restaurant business.  He was also awarded the distinction of Member of the Year by the Louisiana Restaurant Association.
