Anthony Davis put on a show Sunday night in New Orleans, leading the Pelicans (18-25) to a 100-92 win over the Orlando Magic (12-33).

How good was Davis? He put up a stat line that had never been accomplished in franchise history. Dating back to 1988 (Charlotte Hornets), no players in team history had scored 22 points, 19 rebounds (career-best), and 7 blocks in a single game. That changed Sunday night, with Davis putting down a monster dunk (see video below) in the final two minutes of play to seal the game for New Orleans.

Baton Rouge native Glen "Big Baby" Davis stepped in front of Anthony Davis with 1:24 left in regulation. What happened next may land "Big Baby" on the wrong end of a poster. Anthony threw down a monster dunk over Glen, bringing the New Orleans crowd of 17,000+ to their feet.

"I just decided to go up strong, try to dunk it. That just energized the crowd, kind of deflated them (Magic) a little bit and got us going," said Davis. "That was a big play. That's what we needed."

Davis has played like an All-Star all season. He'll learn Thursday whether or not he'll represent the Western Conference All-Stars, though he's not focused on the potential honor.

"I'm not really worried about that. I'm worried about winning. We know we're not where we want to be record-wise. That's what we've got to focus on, what I've got to focus on," explained Davis. "If it happens, it happens, but I'm trying to get more wins for the team."

If it happens, Davis would be the first All-Star representing New Orleans since Chris Paul's final season in the Crescent City in 2011. New Orleans hosts the NBA All-Star game on February 16th.

Tyreke Evans came off the pine Sunday night to lead the Pelicans in scoring with 23. He scored 13 of those points in the 4th quarter, helping New Orleans procure their 2nd straight victory.

The Pelicans bench dominated the Magic reserves, outscoring them 42-8.

Davis and his teammates will hit the road for a Tuesday/Wednesday back to back. First up, a matchup in Cleveland with the Cavs. Tip-off Tuesday is set for 6:00.
