An Arnaudville woman was arrested over the weekend and is being accused of stealing flowers and other items from a cemetery in Cecilia.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a call Friday morning about a woman stealing flowers from St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

After an investigation, 42-year-old Rhonda Lagrange was identified as the suspect.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for Lagrange's home and recovered silk flowers, flower arrangements, religious statues, vases, and other religious memorabilia.

Lagrange was then arrested on one count of simple burglary after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail.

Since the arrest, other victims have come forward and reported thefts of flowers and other items from this and other nearby cemeteries.
