Hunter Hayes, ‘Somebody’s Heartbreak’ – Song Review

What's remarkable about Hunter Hayes's three singles -- including his newest, 'Somebody's Heartbreak' -- is the consistency. There is nothing amateur about this country newcomer. All three fly flat along a bar raised high above the reach of many Nashville singers, both young and old.

Keith Urban’s ‘Golden Road’ Turns 10

One could make a convincing argument that Keith Urban's 'Golden Road' is the most important record of his career... And one of the most important records of the decade. Urban's sophomore album has sold over three million copies, while landing four songs on top of Billboard's country charts (including 'You Look Good in My Shirt,' which wasn't released until 2008). A fifth single, 'Raining on a Sunday' peaked at No. 3.

JB and the Moonshine Band Interview: JB Patterson Says Sharp Songwriting, No Music Business Savvy Are Key to Success

In three short years JB Patterson, the frontman for JB and the Moonshine Band, went from a career in advertising to playing shows across the country, including the Taste of Country Christmas Tour. Had he auditioned for some reality television show or landed one of his songs on a major movie soundtrack, this rapid ascent would make sense. But Patterson found his bandmates from a classified ad in early 2009. In an interview with Taste of Country he admits he was naive with a capital, boldfaced -- underlined "N."

60 Seconds With Casey James

Casey James is as honest in an interview as he is with his music. The Texan and one-time 'American Idol' contestant took a few minutes -- OK, just one minute -- to dish on his troubled youth, his showering preferences and how Keith Urban will do on the show that launched his career nearly three years ago. We already covered questions of inspiration, heartbreak and love in previous interviews, so it was time to get the real scoop from the 'Cryin' on a Suitcase' himater.

Jake Owen, ‘Endless Summer’ – Album Review

The very nature of the EP lends itself more to an artist's most faithful supporters than middling fans looking for an entry point into a new style or sound. Jake Owen's 'Endless Summer' EP allows his warm weather party with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw to last a little longer, but like summer love, the four songs will be little more than memories by the first yellow leaves of fall.
