UPDATE – New Iberia Man Recovering From Train Accident

Update: The New Iberia man walked away from the train collision with only minor injuries.

Fortunately, no one else was in the car, which police say was driving across the track when it was slammed into by the train.

Fortunately, no one has been reported dead.

In New Iberia, a train and a vehicle collided Thursday at Corrine and Washington Street. Captain Ryan Turner tells our news partners at KATC that only minor injuries have been reported.

It’s being reported that the train is blocking the cross street. Authorities are still at the scene.
