A new study found that young women take the most selfies. Not a shock at all there.

However, the amount of time spent taking said selfies, well that's a different story.

The average women between 16 and 25 years old spend an average of five hours and 36 minutes a week taking selfies. (That's 48 minutes per day.)

Women said they take an average of three selfies a day. Add in prep time and adding filters, and they spend 16 minutes on each photo.

57% say they make sure they are in good lighting before they take that snapshot. 46% fix their hair and 33% touch-up their makeup.

A surprisingly small amount, 27%, say they mainly take selfies when they look good and want to show off to their friends.

I think that number is really like 100%! What woman doesn't want to show off to their friends?

One more random stat: 5% of women have taken a selfie on the toilet.

Unfortunately, for the sake of fair and balanced reporting, this study didn't look at guys' selfie behaviors.
