Ban on Using Cash For Secondhand Transactions in Louisiana
If you buy or sell secondhand goods in Louisiana, you can no longer use or accept cash. House Bill 195, passed earlier this year, is aimed at criminals who steal things from copper to televisions and then sell them for cash.
State Representative Rickey Hardy, who co-authored the bill, says: “They can give a check or a cashiers money order, or electronic (transfer).”
However, you can see how this is going to open a can of worms and affect businesses such as pawn shops.
Or how about garage sales or flea markets or even Goodwill? I don’t quite know about this one. Your thoughts?
