Baton Rouge Mother Will Not Be Prosecuted For Whipping Sons

The Baton Rouge mother who was arrested for whipping her sons after they were reported to have burglarized a home will not be prosecuted.

Our news partner, KATC, and other news sources have reported the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office will not prosecute 30-year-old Schaquana Spears.

The story of Spears' arrest garnered national attention because many saw her actions against her sons simply as disciplining her children who had just been caught committing burglary.

Spears was arrested on two charges of child cruelty for the incident.
