The drama surrounding Beyonce's song "Daddy Lessons" off her critically-acclaimed album Lemonade continues.

Rolling Stone Country reports that the song was allegedly given a no-go from the Recording Academy when seeking consideration in the Grammy Awards' country categories. The pop superstar joined forces with the Dixie Chicks at the 2016 CMA Awards to perform a stellar rendition of "Daddy Lessons," releasing a special version of the song after night's spectacle. The performance was followed by a swarm of controversy when the CMA was accused of deleting social media posts surrounding Beyonce's appearance at the show, which the country music organization denied doing.

2017's Grammy nominations were announced on Tuesday (Dec. 6), with Beyonce leading the nominees for a total of nine nods across a variety of categories, including Album of the Year for Lemonade, Best Music Video, Best Urban Contemporary Album and even Best Rock Performance for her collaboration with Jack White on "Don't Hurt Yourself."

Country music will be represented handsomely at the iconic awards show, however, with Maren Morris scoring nominations for Best Country Album (Hero), Best Country Song ("My Church"), Best Country Solo Performance categories, in addition to the all-genre Best New Artist, where she's joined by Kelsea Ballerini. Keith Urban's Ripcord is also nominated for Best Country Album, while its current hit, "Blue Ain't Your Color," is up for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney and Sturgill Simpson are just a few of the other Grammy-nominated country artists.

The 2017 Grammy Awards air on Feb. 12 at 8PM ET.
