Big Ang From ‘Mob Wives’ Hospitalized for Throat Tumor

Mob Wives star Big Ang was hospitalized earlier this week to treat a throat tumor.

She was taken to the hospital earlier this week after experiencing pain in her neck and plans to undergo surgery for a tumor in her throat. TMZ reported that the tumor was the size of a lemon.

It is unclear if Big Ang's tumor is cancerous. She has been a smoker for years.

The 54-year-old raspy-voiced VH1 reality star, whose real name is Angela Raiola, has not publicly discussed the ailment and appeared to be in good spirits at two celebrity events that took place over the past two weeks.

Big Ang has been on Mob Wives since the show debuted in 2011. The series' fifth season concluded earlier this month.

She also appeared on two different spin-offs -- Big Ang, which lasted one season in 2012 and The Miami Monkey, which aired for one season in 2013 and focused on her bar in Florida.
