Blake Shelton’s Father Passes Away

Sad news for Blake Shelton and his family. Blake's father, Dick Shelton, has passed away. The news broke last night on Shelton's website. Word was that the senior Shelton had been in declining health for the past year. No age was given.

As a result of his father's passing, Blake has cancelled all his tour dates through Sunday.

Blake said in a statement, "I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers. Your support means the world to me. I love you guys."

At last month's American Country Awards, Shelton acknowledged his father, who was hospitalized at the time with pneumonia.
