The ceremonial first pitch in a Major League Baseball game is usually reserved for some celebrity or political blowhard. Every now and then MLB gets it right and allows someone truly inspirational to ascend the pitcher's mound and make that time honored toss.

This video shows the difference between "I am defeated by my disability" and "I will overcome my disability". The young man taking the pitcher's mound is blind. As you can see he has no trouble getting the ball the required distance and right on target.

Maybe he had to work a little harder to make that throw than some of us who have our sight might have worked. Maybe he had to learn to trust himself and his ability than blaming his disability for a lack of effort. I believe there are no such things as disabilities. There are only excuses. Those who want succeed will always succeed and those who don't have an inner fire burning will simply flame out and disappear.
