A popular blood pressure medication is under voluntary recall by the FDA. CNN reports several medications containing the active ingredient Valsartan may contain carcinogens, prompting the recall.

Valsartan is used to control blood pressure and prevent heart failure. The U.S. has joined 22 other countries that have recalled various Valsartan products.

The recall includes products manufactured by Solco Healthcare, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Major Pharmaceuticals. Valsartan users are recommended to check the prescription label to determine the manufacturer. If it's not there, you should contact your pharmacist or physician.
