Body Discovered in Parked 18 Wheeler at Robichaux Center in Lafayette

A man's body was discovered this afternoon inside his 18 wheeler in the parking lot of the Robichaux Center in Lafayette. It is believed that he died due to natural causes.

According to Lafayette Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff, the body was discovered just after 4pm.

The victim has only been identified as a 38 year old African-American male.

According to Ratcliff, family members say the victim often parked his truck at that location and walked back and forth to his home, which is nearby.

A formal investigation will be conducted, but Ratcliff says a preliminary investigation did not reveal that the death occurred under suspicious circumstances.
