The U.S. House of Representatives has approved the GOP tax reform bill by a vote of  227-203.

Passage of the bill will mark the first major legislative win for the Republicans under President Donald Trump.

The bill's supporters, i.e. U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, say the passage of the bill is historic because it marks the first time in more than three decades that Congress has made moves to reform the nation's taxes.

Opponents of the tax reform package say the bill will raise taxes for the nation's middle class.

The bill now heads across the Capitol to the U.S. Senate. Senators are expected to vote on the bill sometime this evening.
