From our friends at the Nashville TennesseanBrenda Lee -Little Miss Dynamite, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame is now on  the #1 album for rapper Kanye West - 'Yeezus'. Whaaaaaat? A bit of spoken word from the beginning of Lee's 1959 hit "Sweet Nothin's" - in which the singer says "Uh-uh, honey" and "all right" - is sampled and used throughout "Bound 2," the final song on West's new album. Kinda cool, actually.

But the most interesting part of this whole equation is that Brenda Lee did not give her permission for the sample, or even know about it. She says she wasn't contacted by West's camp, as label MCA Nashville has the rights to approve the recording's use. But she deems it a good surprise, especially as West's fans are now turning to clips of "Sweet Nothin's" on YouTube.

FYI - Ms Lee has already sold over 100 million records on her own, made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry the same night as Elvis Presley, and is featured in the video for Pistol Annie's 'Hush, Hush'.

I wonder if she's going to buy a baby gift for little North West.....

Check out the video for her classic tune 'I'm Sorry' below.
