Two weeks ago I was the only radio personality, betting guru , charming man of little means to give you the truth about the Kentucky Derby. Today I am back with everything you will need to know to declare yourself a winner concerning The Preakness Stakes. The Preakness Stakes is the second jewel in horse racing's triple crown. The first jewel is the aforementioned Kentucky Derby, the final jewel is the Belmont Stakes next month.

The field for the Preakness is considerably smaller than that of the derby but the handicapping becomes even more involved since you have horses that sat out two weeks ago now running with fresh legs. My preferred jockey, Calvin Borel isn't in the irons for the Preakness but one of my other favorite jockeys is, Kent Desormeaux. wait scratch that. Controversy for Kent Desormeaux has once again reared it's ugly head. See how horse racing can change on a dime or a drink as the case may be?

Regardless, I do see the Derby winner I'll Have Another having a really good shot at another win this afternoon. I do see him being challenged from the horse in the 6 position, Creative Cause. Both horses have excellent speed ratings and despite rumored foot problems Creative Cause ran well in the Derby. Oh another thing to consider about the #6 horse. He is gray. For horse players that should be enough information as to why you have to include him.

I do like the favorite Bodemeister to hit the board just not in the win slot. I was really high on Tiger Walk the horse that Desormeaux will not be riding and the #5, Went the Day Well should figure in the money too.

So what is the best you need to copy if you want to experience the thrill of the Preakness the same way I will? I am betting the 6, Creative Cause across the board. I am also playing an exotic or two with an exacta wheel of the 6,9 over the 1,5,7 and a trifecta wheel using the same combinations with the 6&9 on top. Enjoy the race, I will see you at the pay window when the dust settles.
