The Bayou State is getting beaver fever! The wildly popular Texas based Buc-ees Rest Stop and Convenience Store chain will open their first out of state store in Baton Rouge, at the Greens at Millerville, corner of I-12 and Millerville Road. Buc-ees has always boasted that they are the largest convenience store in the USA, and have the cleanest restrooms in the world, which, being a loyal customer, I have to say is true!

The massive travel stops were founded in 1982 by Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Don Wasek, in Lake Jackson, Texas. There are 32 locations in Texas, and the Baton Rouge store will have 60,000 square feet of retail space and more than 90 fueling positions. Wow. Buc-ees is not a truck stop, and only four-wheel vehicles, and no 18-wheel tractor trailers are allowed.

The target groundbreaking will be in the second quarter, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, and the grand opening will take place in early 2017.
