Today is the day that Apple announces the new iPhone 6 and everyone will get in line by the time the CEO finishes his first sentence.

But hold what you got -- it's going to be more expensive to be an owner of the new smartphone.

According to to Chetan Sherma, a telecommunications analyst and consultant, he says that with every new generation of iPhone that comes out, the amount of data people uses doubles.

The average iPhone user will consume about 1.4 gigabytes of data on their phone right now. If you get the iPhone 6, expect your usage to go up to nearly three gigabytes.

That's a hefty price increase no matter which carrier you use, especially since they pretty much don't offer unlimited data anymore.

AT&T and Verizon Wireless, which control about two-thirds of the wireless market in the U.S., no longer offer unlimited data plans. A two-year contract at either company for a 10 gigabytes per month plan starts at $140 a month, excluding taxes and other fees.

This may be a good time to unplug from the world...or just go back to my bag phone!
