The final out of Louisiana's Ragin Cajun Softball season came shortly after midnight last night. When the Arizona State Sun Devils ending the Cajun's 2012 campaign in mercy rule fashion.

The NCAA Softball Super Regional had gotten off to a positive start on Thursday when the Cajuns blanked the Sun Devils 6-0 in game one of the best of three series. Friday night the defending national champs had revenge on their minds. In game two of the series the Arizona State bats came alive against Ashley Brignac and the Cajuns winning the contest 9-2.

In the third and deciding game of the Super Regional it was Freshman Jordan Wallace who had mastered Arizona State in the opener in the circle against All-American Dallas Escobedo. It didn't take long for the Sun Devils to do what they couldn't do the entire first game against Wallace, that was score. Score they did, early and often mercy ruling the Cajuns 8-0.

The Cajuns did make it interesting in the sixth inning loading the bases only to see Escobedo work out the jam and send the Cajuns back into the field with nothing to show for the effort. It has been a remarkable season for Ragin Cajun Softball and you're invited to a special welcome home party this evening at Lamson Park. The festivities are expected to begin around 7pm.
