Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team began play at the Diamond-9 Citrus Classic this morning with a dominating mercy-rule victory over the Pitt Panthers by the score of 8-0 in six innings.

Cajun hurler Christina Hamilton (pictured) earned the win with 5 solid innings pitched, allowing only 3 hits and fanning 4 batters. Victoria Brown pitched the sixth, preserving the Cajuns shutout.

Louisiana's offense was particularly impressive, pounding Pitt's pitchers for 13 hits and 8 runs, all earned.

Senior Matte Hack was fantastic, finished with 3 hits, 2 RBI, 1 run, including a walk off solo homers in the sixth to end it.
