Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun (10-2) baseball team captured the weekend series versus the Sacred Heart Pioneers (0-2) with a 10-2 win Saturday afternoon at M.L. Tigue Moore Field.

Louisiana designated hitter Caleb Adams (pictured) was incredible swinging the stick, finishing with 3 home runs and 5 RBI in 4 at bats. After the game, his teammates gave him a pie to the face (technically it was shaving cream, but it had the desired effect) for his outstanding play. Adams is the first Ragin' Cajun to go yard 3 times in a single game since Kolin Hatfield did it against FIU back in the 2007 season.

Michael Strentz was great as well, finishing with a solo home run of his own, going 3-4 with 2 RBI. As a team, the Cajuns finished with 12 hits.

Cody Boutte (3-0) earned the victory for Louisiana, going 5 innings strong, allowing 7 hits, one ER, fanning 5 batters and walking only 1. Nick Zaunbrecher took over in the sixth, pitching 3 strong innings, before Kendall Mayer closed things out in the ninth.

Louisiana will go for a sweep of the Pios tomorrow in a Sunday matinee. Sophomore RHP Austin Robichaux will start on the rubber for the Cajuns. First pitch is set for 1:00.
