Donovan Williams suited up for Ragin' Cajun Basketball for the last time against Milligan College, but his teammates made sure it was a night to remember.

Shawn Long had 20 points before even hitting halftime, and it was clear from early on that the Cajuns were going to break 100 points. After starting with a fast offensive pace, the Cajuns never let up for a 115-76 victory over Milligan College, and they were able to sit the starters for the majority of the second half.

The win marks the first time since the 1992-1993 season that the Cajuns broke 100 points in consecutive matches, and Donovan Williams scored the basket to break the century mark in his final game playing for the program.

Williams, a non-scholarship player and a senior, told Bob Marlin the Milligan College game would be his last, and Marlin acted with grace and class by giving him his first career start. His teammates did the rest to set him up for a three-ball to put the Cajuns over 100 points, and he registered his only career double figure scoring game in what should be a night to remember as he moves forward with his life.

Head Coach Bob Marlin made the decision to honor his departing senior, and he was rewarded with a solid performance. He had a very simple message for Williams before his final game as a Cajun.

"I told him I loved him and what the staff thinks of him," Marlin said in postgame.

Several Cajuns led the way offensively, but Long was the pacemaker in the paint, posting a 26 point, 10 rebound double-double in only 20 minutes of play. It marks the third double-double in three games for the ultra-talented postman, which doesn't bode well for upcoming opponents if he's catching full stride.

Brian Williams and Devonta Walker both chipped in 15 points on the night, Kasey Shepherd had 12 points (all in the first half), and seven Cajuns overall registered double-digit scoring nights. The Cajuns scored 50 second chance points, shot 57% from the floor, made 11 three-pointers and had an all-around field day at home in the Cajundome to push their record to 6-4 on the season.

Northwestern State awaits the Cajuns on December 20th, but the win definitely felt like the holiday season coming early for the Cajun fans and players in the Cajundome on Wednesday. The Cajuns will do it without Donovan Williams, but he will still probably have a smile on his face from his final game wearing the vermilion and white.

Williams left the hardwood to a standing ovation and warm embraces from his teammates, but his next walk across the floor will be more important as the senior prepares for his upcoming graduation date. His basketball journey is over, but the rest of his life is just beginning.
