Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Thursday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the Texas St. Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference contest.

The game will mark the first of two-consecutive Thursday night tilts, with Louisiana traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas next Thursday to face Arkansas St.

Pregame coverage begins at 4:30 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast at 5:30 pm.

The game can be viewed on ESPNU.

Kickoff time at Cajun Field is set for 6:30 pm.

Whiteout: Louisiana is asking fans to wear white for the game. White shirts are on sale at the Ragin' Cajuns Store on Johnson Street.

Jambalaya Fundraiser: The Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) have partnered with UL Dining Services and Ragin' Cajuns Concessions to host a Jambalaya Fundraiser to help benefit both Second Harvest Food Bank and the Extra Yard for Teachers program.

Fans are invited to Cajun Field for a complimentary bowl of jambalaya from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 4-6:30 p.m. The Jambalaya Fundraiser will be located near the Oak Tree at Gate A across from the Russo Park main entrance.

Fans must donate at least one can food item or make a monetary donation in order to receive jambalaya.

Fans arriving between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. will need to enter the Cajun Field parking lot using either Gate 1 or 3.

Ragin' Cajuns Fan Fest: Ragin' Cajuns Fan Fest presented by Iberia Bank opens at 3 p.m. at Russo Park. Fans can take in the Louisiana baseball scrimmage from 3-5 p.m. The Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team will also be on hand for autographs at 5 p.m. The Kids Zone presented by Cox will begin at 4 p.m. and will feature inflatable games storybook characters, face painting and more.

Gameday Parking: Cajun Field will be closed for student parking. Gameday parking at Cajun Field will be the same as it was for the first two games of the 2017 season. Tailgating set up will be allowed after 12 p.m. on Wednesday. RV set up will only be allowed on Thursday, and all RVs must move out after the game due to Student parking on Friday.

Cajun Walk: Gets Underway at 4 pm.

Tailgating Entertainment: Corey Ledet begins playing at 4 pm.

Weather: Looking great! Sunny skies are forecasted throughout the Acadiana area all day on Thursday, with no mention of rain. The temperature at kickoff is expected to be right at 80 degrees.

Now, on to the match-up.

Louisiana, who defeated Idaho last week, 21-16, is 2-3, overall, and 1-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 37.0 points-per-game, to go along with 418.2 total yards, including 179.2 rush yards and 239.0 pass yards.

Defensively, Louisiana has allowed 46.2 points a contest, to go along with 506.6 of total offense, including 265.2 rush yards and 241.4 pass yards.

UL is led by quarterback Andre Nunez, who has thrown for 500 yards and 3 touchdowns, and running back Trey Ragas, who has rushed for 453 yards and 5 touchdowns on only 63 carries.

Texas St., who lost to ULM last week, 45-27, will enter at 1-5, overall, and 0-2 in league play.

Offensively, the Bobcats are average 14.5 points-per-game, while accumulating 300.7 yards of total offense, including 131.5 rush yards and 169.2 pass yards.

Defensively, Texas St. has allowed an average of 33.7 points-per-game, to go along with 410.3 total yards, including 143.8 rush yards and 266.5 pass yards.

The Bobcats are paced by quarterback Damian Williams, who has thrown for 895 yards and 4 touchdowns while rushing for another 218 yards and 4 scores.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 4-0, including a 27-3 win over Texas St. last season.
