Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun point guard Elfrid Payton has received plenty of accolades over the last month. Just last week, Payton was named to the Lou Henson All-America team by collegeinsider.com, becoming a finalist for the Lou Henson player of the year award. (The award is given to the best mid-major player in Division I basketball)

Today, Payton earned another All-American honor as he was named to the 14 Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America team. He's also one of 25 finalists for the 2014 Lefty Driesell award. The announcement was made by collegeinsider.com.

The Lefty Driesell award is named after the legendary Charles Grice "Lefty" Driesell . As a former head coach, he's the only man win 100 games at four different Division I schools (Maryland, Davidson, James Madison, Georgia State).

Elfrid Payton was the only player in Division I NCAA basketball who averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals this season. He was named the Sun Belt Conference defensive player of the year, and was one of ten D1 players this season to register a triple-double.
