Louisiana Ragin' Cajun running back Elijah McGuire will head into his senior season on a on the prestigious Maxwell Award Watch List for the second consecutive season.

The Houma native finished 2015 with 1,058 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground, along with 33 receptions, 293 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.

McGuire's 3,185 rushing yards currently ranks 3rd best in school history.

Robert W. "Tiny" Maxwell is a former professional football player, sports writer and referee for whom the award is named after. The award has been given to the best player in the country every year since 1937.

Louisiana kicks off their season at home on September 3rd against the Boise State Broncos.
