Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad travels to Ruston, Louisiana to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, in a non-conference match-up.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 4 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 5 pm.

Kickoff time is set for 6 o’clock.

The game, which marks the final non-conference tilt of the year for UL, will also mark the 87th time that the two school have met on the football field.

Louisiana, who fell at home last week to the Akron Zips, 35-14, is currently 1-2 on the season, and 0-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 30.3 points-per-game, along with 437.0 total yards, 239.7 rushing yards, and 197.3 passing yards, while allowing 30.7 points, 420.7 total yards, 210.7 rushing yards, and 210.0 passing yards.

Louisiana is led by junior running back Elijah McGuire, who has compiled 331 yards, along with 6 touchdowns, on 57 carries.

Louisiana Tech, who defeated FIU last week, 27-17, will head into the match-up at 2-2.

Offensively, the Bulldogs are averaging 40.0 points, along with 522.5 total yards, 203.2 rushing yards, and 319.2 passing yards a contest, while allowing 28.0 points, 384.5 total yards, 271.5 passing yards, and 113.0 rushing yards.

Louisiana Tech is paced by senior running back Kenneth Dixon, who has amassed 544 yards, including 5 touchdowns, on 73 carries.

Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series, 47-33-6, and has won the last seven meetings, including a 48-20 victory a year ago in Lafayette.
