With the flooding Louisiana is currently facing, in most cases sandbags just aren't going to cut it. One family in Calcasieu Parish constructed a pretty massive levee surrounding their home just in time to hopefully keep everything safe.

KATC.com received these photos from some of their viewers showing a giant dirt levee constructed around this house in the Sabine Island Wildlife Management Area. As you'll see in the first picture, the flooding hadn't yet started to effect the area. In the second picture, significant flooding had taken over the area, but the home seems to pretty well protected by the levee.

This area is currently only accessible by boat according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department.
