Saturday night Fox Television became part of the story of the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race in Charlotte North Carolina. A cable carrying the network's "sky cam" snapped and dropped down into the crowd and across the track. These steel cables when whipped around by stock cars traveling at almost 200 mph could have become deadly weapons in the stands.

Here is actual footage of the cables snapping and falling on members of the crowd. **Caution unsuitable language can be heard in this clip**. Several members of the crowd were injured, some seriously enough to require hospitalization. Several of the cars were also damaged and the race was stopped while crews repaired the track.

After repairs were made to the track the race resumed and Kevin Harvick was first across the finish line after 600 miles of racing.
