As long as we have been driving cars we have been having car crashes. Those that build are cars have made significant strides in keeping us safer on the road. The innovations that we see in today' modern automobile seem like space age technology when you compare them to cars of 50 years ago.

If you're my age, a child of the late 60's and early 70's, you remember riding around in the way back of a station wagon. You remember the only safety belt you had was Mom or Dad's right arm across your body in the front seat. You might even remember dashboards that were made of metal. Today's modern designs not only have creature comfort but safety as a key aspect.
