Casey Anthony Files For Bankruptcy
On top of that, Anthony is also facing three civil lawsuits including one from Zenaida Gonzalez on grounds of defamation related to the 2008 disappearance and death of her daughter, Caylee.
Anthony called the bankruptcy filing “the next step towards closure for me.”
According to reports, here is the breakdown of the money she owes:
- $500,000 for attorney fees and costs for criminal defense lawyer, Jose Baez
- $145,660 for the Orange County Sheriff’s office for a judgment covering investigative fees and costs related to the case
- $68,540 for the Internal Revenue Service for taxes, interest, and penalties
- $61,505 for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for court costs.
