Two of the most popular shows on cable TV are looking for new stars right here in Acadiana. Producers of the MTV show Jersey Shore are looking to cast a "Cajun" version of the show. That casting call will take place in Broussard and Lafayette. Also History Channel's Swamp People is looking for new gator hunters and swampers with a casting call set for Prejeans restaurant.

For those who wish to be "Swamp People" you will need to be at Prejeans Tuesday August 2nd between 9 am and 5 pm. The producers are looking for 'Gator hunters with at least 50 tags and who are licensed to hunt in the state of Louisiana. They are also looking for "True Swampers". True Swampers are people who live off the land or earn their living in the swamp, unique people that can only be found in the swamps of Louisiana.

The producers of Jersey Shore will be holding auditions for their Cajun version of the  pop culture hit show at two locations in the area. The first audition will be held at The Station Bar and Grill in Broussard on Friday August 5th from 8pm until 1am and Saturday August 6th at Outlaws on Johnston Street in Lafayette from 7pm until 12 Midnight.
